Die Handlungsstränge von Buch und Film laufen kaum synchron miteinander, und das mag in vielen Fällen für Leser (oder umgekehrt für Filmzuschauer) enttäuschend sein, im Fall von 2001: A Space Odyssey kann ich das Gegenteil behaupten. Ich finde es erfrischend, dass das Buch nicht lediglich eine Nacherzählung des Filmes ist, und nicht lediglich fehlende (oder vermeintlich fehlende) Informationen zum Film nachliefert. Film und Buch drehen sich zwar um das gleiche Thema, aber sie gehen unterschiedlich mit dem Stoff um. Buch und Film ergänzen sich gegenseitig, was, wie ich vermute, der monatelangen Zusammenarbeit von Arthur C. Clarke und Stanley Kubrick geschuldet ist. Unbedingte Leseempfehlung von mir!
