Mit Sicherheit eines der besten und wichtigsten Bücher, die je geschrieben wurden. Es erzählt, die Geschichte der Farmerfamilie Joad, die wie viele andere Familien während der Staubstürme und der großen Dürre der 30er Jahre ihre Farm in Oklahoma verliert und nach Kalifornien auswandert. Dort erhoffen sie sich Arbeit und ein besseres Leben, finden jedoch größtenteils Ausbeutung und Ablehnung. Ein Schicksal, das noch heute viele Flüchtlinge teilen müssen. Daher ist das Buch nach wie vor wichtig und aktuell.
Hier in der Jubiläumsausgabe, die der Erstausgabe nachempfunden wurde. Besonders schön fällt der raue Buchschnitt ins Auge. Nur beim Einband hätte ich mir Leinen statt Papier gewünscht, das tut dem Gesamteindruck aber keinen Abbruch. Alles in Allem ein schönes Sammlerstück!
