The Bible Against Slavery by Stephen M. Vail is a comprehensive study of the biblical teachings that oppose slavery. The author argues that the Bible is unequivocally against slavery and that the institution of slavery was a result of human sinfulness and not a divine mandate. Vail examines the biblical texts that have been used to justify slavery and argues that they have been misinterpreted. He also provides a historical overview of the abolitionist movement and the role that the Bible played in it. The book is well-researched and provides a thorough analysis of the biblical teachings on slavery. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of slavery and the role that religion played in its abolition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
