""Edward Carpenter: Poet And Prophet"" is a biography of the English writer, poet, and social activist Edward Carpenter, written by Ernest Crosby. The book traces Carpenter's life from his birth in 1844 to his death in 1929, exploring his early years as a clergyman's son, his education at Cambridge, and his eventual rejection of traditional Christianity in favor of a more spiritual and socially conscious worldview. Carpenter's work as a writer and poet is also examined, including his early poetry and his later works on socialism, sexual liberation, and the environment. Throughout the book, Crosby highlights Carpenter's influence on the social and political movements of his time, including his advocacy for women's rights, gay rights, and workers' rights. Overall, ""Edward Carpenter: Poet And Prophet"" provides a comprehensive portrait of a highly influential figure in British literature and social activism. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
