""Babylonian and Assyrian Literature"" is a comprehensive collection of ancient texts from the civilizations of Babylon and Assyria, translated and compiled by an anonymous author. The book contains a wide range of literary works, including myths, epics, hymns, prayers, and historical accounts. Many of these texts were originally written on clay tablets, and have been preserved for thousands of years. The book provides insight into the beliefs, values, and daily life of the people of ancient Mesopotamia, and sheds light on the cultural and intellectual achievements of these civilizations. Topics covered in the book include creation myths, the epic of Gilgamesh, the Code of Hammurabi, and the Babylonian and Assyrian pantheons. The translations are accompanied by extensive notes and commentary, providing context and analysis of the texts. This book is a valuable resource for anyone interested in ancient history, literature, or religion. As Samas' Car Sank In The Glowing West, And Sin The Moon-god Forth Had Come Full Drest For Starry Dance Across The Glistening Skies, The Sound Of Work For Man On Earth Now Dies, And All Betake Themselves To Sweet Repose. The Silver Light Of Sin Above Bright Flows. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
