""The Pantheon or Ancient History of the Gods of Greece and Rome"" by Edward Baldwin is a comprehensive guide to the mythology and religion of ancient Greece and Rome. The book explores the origins, characteristics, and stories of the gods and goddesses worshipped by these ancient civilizations, including Zeus, Apollo, Athena, and Venus. It delves into their relationships with each other, their roles in the world, and their interactions with mortals. The author also discusses the symbolism and significance of the myths and how they have influenced art, literature, and culture throughout history. With its detailed descriptions and engaging writing style, ""The Pantheon"" is an excellent resource for anyone interested in ancient mythology and religion.1814. For the use of schools, and young persons of both sexes. The purpose of this book is to place the Heathen Mythology in two points of view: first, as it would have struck a Traveler in Greece, who wished to form a just conception of the Religion of the country, free from either favor or prejudice; secondly, regarding Mythology as the introduction and handmaid to the study of Poetry, the author has endeavored to feel his subject in the spirit of a poet, and to communicate that feeling to others. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
