The book ""The Insanity Of Genius And The General Inequality Of Human Faculty"" by John Nisbet is a thought-provoking exploration of the concept of genius and the inherent inequality of human abilities. Nisbet argues that while genius is often celebrated and revered, it is also closely linked to mental instability and a lack of social conformity. He examines the lives of famous geniuses such as Vincent Van Gogh, Edgar Allan Poe, and Friedrich Nietzsche, and explores how their unique abilities and perspectives often led to tragic outcomes.Nisbet also delves into the broader issue of human inequality, arguing that while we all possess unique talents and abilities, the distribution of these talents is inherently unequal. He explores the role of genetics, environment, and social factors in shaping individual abilities, and questions the fairness of a society that rewards certain talents over others.Throughout the book, Nisbet challenges readers to think critically about the nature of genius and the broader implications of human inequality. His writing is engaging and thought-provoking, making this book a must-read for anyone interested in the intersection of psychology, philosophy, and social justice. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
