"The feather of a swan"

Bewertung am 01.06.2023

Bewertungsnummer: 1952776

Bewertet: Buch (Taschenbuch)

What happens when an American hires a tourist guide to take him through Tokyo’s sleazy nightlife? Kenji the guide is immediately alerted around his client, who seems to be a pathological liar with skin that looks cold and plastic and eyes that darken before they turn cold. The story of a Japanese school girl who was found dismembered is filling the news. Something tells Kenji that Frank was involved. The book is extremely well-written while still being a quick read. The suspense in Murakami’s “In the Miso Soup” made it unputdownable, leaving you terrified for the next page. It also examines the human consequences of loneliness in both Japanese and American societies. Read this book if you want to be entertained and learn about Japan, but be prepared for gore and psychological drama.

A very easy read with a gripping story: Kenji works for Frank as a Guide and notices little concerning details on Franks behaivor..soon he watches themselves get into trouble. I really enjoyed the setting and language, espacially because there were many critisisms about tourists.
