Es ist Weihnachten in London. Während Gemma ihre Ferien eigentlich auf Bällen mit ihren Freundinnen genießen will, kommt ihr das magische Reich dazwischen. Für Gemma steht in beiden Welten viel auf dem Spiel: einerseits die Wahrung der Magie, andererseits sind da noch ihre Gefühle für Kartik, denen sie nicht nachgeben darf. Gut, dass der Sohn eines Lords an ihr Interesse zeigt und Gemma von ihm ablenkt. Doch die Magie fordert ihre Aufmerksamkeit: Diese ist nun freigesetzt und Gemma soll einen Weg finden sie zu binden. Dabei lernt sie zusammen mit Felicity und Ann neue - und gefährlichere- Teile des magischen Reichs kennen. Sie treffen auf neue Gestalten, aber auch auf verloren geglaubte Freunde wie auch Feinde.
