Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel's story is about to be completely rewritten.

Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green's most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

„The Fault in Our Stars“

Sabrina Reiter, Thalia-Buchhandlung Wien, Donauzentrum

John Green, self-proclaimed nerdfighter, YouTube-Celebrity and author, has written this extraordinary book.
Dedicated to his friend Esther Grace the book's storyline is somewhat inspired by her sickness, which is thyroid cancer.

This story is about lots of things: being in love, growing up, dealing with sickness, appreciating what you have and having faith. If it weren't for cancer Hazel would be like lots of other teenage girls too, a book-loving, slightly sarcastic yet realistic 16-year-old. Terminally ill she tries to be brave for her parents and doesn't expect all too much. But when she meets Augustus in her support group for kids with cancer things change. She experiences things she never thought she'd be able to experience...

I am amazed at the fact that such an authentic female character, especially a teenager, has been made up by a man. John Green portrays Hazel beautifully and makes it easy for the reader to sypathize with her.
I really enjoyed reading this book whether I was laughing or crying at the time and highly recommend it to every teenager aged 14 and up.

By the way, this book is also going to be made into a movie in 2014!

John Green is one of my favourite authors at the time, and this book is one of the reasons why. Incredibly sad and heartwarmingly funny at the same time!

A very moving teenage love-story that easily moves the heart of adults as well. A very well written book that everyone should read.

Sehr tiefgründiges und vielschichtiges Buch über das, was im Leben wichtig ist. Sympathische Charaktere und ein sehr angenehmer Sprachstil. Außerdem: akute Taschentuchgefahr!
