Dr Chan Lü is Associate Professor of Chinese language and linguistics at the Department of Asian Languages and Literature, University of Washington, USA. Her research focuses on bilingual and biliteracy development in school-aged children, and how classroom, school, and family factors facilitate such development. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals such as Applied Linguistics, Journal of Bilingualism and Bilingual Education  and she is also the author of a 2019 monograph Chinese literacy learning in an immersion program  (Palgrave MacMillan) and co-author of a 2026 textbook An Introduction to Chinese Linguistics (Cambridge University Press). She is also serving as an associate editor for Journal of Research in Reading . Dr. Xiaomeng Li is Assistant Professor of Chinese and Applied Linguistics in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at Western Washington University, USA. Her research focuses on second language reading and language assessment using a quantitative methodology. Her work has been published in Reading and Writing , Language Learning , and Review of Educational Research , among others.  Dr. Sihui (Echo) Ke is Associate Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her primary research interest is in second language reading. Her work has been published in refereed journals such as  Applied Linguistics ,  Language Learning , and  Modern Language Journal . She is serving on the editorial board of  Humanities and Social Sciences Communications ,  Journal of Educational Psychology , among others.
