Small and Tiny Clanger hear unfamiliar music playing and investigate. The source of the sound comes from trumpet-looking creatures known as Hoots floating on a star. These Hoots land on the Clangers' planet. While Small and Tiny are polite to the visitors, the Hoots are aggressive and pushy. They seem to be looking for the Clangers' other friend Hoot. However, they are angry because he sounds different from them. Tiny Clanger bravely stands up to the invaders by showing how her Hoot friend can sound just like them. Through kindness and bravery, Tiny Clanger defends her friend and makes new friends.
