boring and not easy to understand

Bewertung am 22.06.2026

Bewertungsnummer: 3175103

Bewertet: Schulbuch (Taschenbuch)

The book I will recommend is “No Place” by Todd Strasser. Important themes of the novel are homelessness and social problems. High school student Dan and baseball pitcher has a successful life with his girlfriend Talia. But when his parents tell him about their financial problems, everything changes. It’s hard enough that he has to life in a tent in a tent city called Dignityville. But he has also a lot of social problems for example argues between him and Talia. I read this book in school and unfortunately I didn’t like it. I think Talia behaves absolutely unfair towards Dan. She is doesn’t behave anymore normal towards Dan only because of his homelessness. I think there are a lot of jumps in the plot and this makes the story hard to follow. At the end there are a lot of open questions and I think the end doesn’t deserve to be called an end. And in my opinion isn’t this book thrilling, it was boring for me to read it. There are a lot of negative points I said but there is one positive thing: It’s may not the most thrilling book, but in class you can do a lot of creative things. You can work well with it in class. So, all in all I don’t like the story but when in class it’s not the worst book.

The book I have chosen to recomment is the noval ,,No Place‘‘. In my opinion, the book "No Place" is quite boring and sometimes hard to understand. I read it in 9th grade, and the story was very predictable with an ending that felt too open. However, the book teaches that not everyone has a lot of money and not all friends are as good as they seem at first. These points make the story more realistic, even if I did not enjoy reading it much.
