Meine letzte Rezension Credence von Penelope Douglas
The girl's parents take their own lives. The girl is put in the custody of her father’s stepbrother, who lives in the Colorado mountains with his two sons. The girl spends the winter jumping from one of their beds to the other, before 'falling in love' with the one who is a psycho and literally SA´s her when they first meet... I usually don’t judge on people’s reading preferences, but this is NOT it. Rant incoming: Kaleb is a complete psychopath. (not in a good way) He doesn’t talk due to a ‘childhood trauma’; instead, he rapes the FMC until she believes she enjoys it and ultimately discards her birth control pills. Let alone the FMC Tiernan’s weirdo step-uncle and her other step-cousin; her uncle is in his forties, and SHE IS 17 AT THE START OF THE BOOK??!! I don't even want to get into how messed up that is because we probably all know. Noah, her cousin, basically complains that Tiernan won’t allow him to sleep with her, claiming, “he is the only man in this house who hasn’t slapped her yet.” boho so unfair what.the.f. Every man in this book is so misogynistic. Now, the thing that caused me to gag the most. The threesome of brothers/cousins. I’m spiraling over how Noah, Caleb, and Tiernan managed to do that without throwing up because??? This book is entirely problematic and wrong; there are no justifications or anything of the sort. EW.

    Madonna in a Fur Coat

    Ein schüchterner junger Mann verlässt sein Zuhause in der Türkei und entdeckt das Leben in Berlin der 1920er Jahre. Dort, zwischen den belebten Straßen, eleganten Museen, leidenschaftlicher Politik und verruchten Kabaretts, verändert eine zufällige Begegnung sein Leben für immer. Hin- und hergerissen zwischen seinem Wunsch nach Freiheit und seinem Bedürfnis nach Zugehörigkeit, kämpft er darum, das neue Leben, das er gefunden hat, festzuhalten. Mein erstes 5-Sterne-Buch dieses Jahr!! Die Charaktere sind so greifbar und authentisch, und die Geschichte zwischen Raif und Maria ist etwas ganz Besonderes und wunderschön geschrieben. Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so viele Notizen in einem Buch gemacht – vor allem nicht in einem Klassiker. Aber wow. „Madonna in a Fur Coat“ ist perfekt für alle, die so wie ich „Weiße Nächte“ von Dostojewski geliebt haben. Es hat the same amount of YEARNING. Einfach wow.

    Paedyn and Kai return to Ilya, where they have to make tough decisions and question their loyalties. The fate of both of them and the entire kingdom depend on Kitt – what on earth was he thinking? I got everything I expected from this book: lots of tropes, Kai, banter, iconic lines, Kai, and plot twists. It was beautiful, sad, and made me feel everything. Lauren Robert’s writing style gets better with each book, and I’m excited for her future projects. However, I have to say that this book is the weakest in the series. Don’t get me wrong, it’s in no way bad, but I found the first two books stronger. Still, this story found its perfect ending and I hope all her future MMC´s have the same charm about them like Kai did.

    Her Soul to Take is the first book in the Souls Trilogy and a balance between the plot and smut. Raelynn Lawson returned to her childhood hometown of Abelaum and stayed at her parents' cabin to attend college and gain independence. On her first night there, she helped her best friend Inaya at her bookstore and accidentally stumbled upon a book that turned out to be a grimoire. Her friend urged her to keep it, since she’s into the supernatural—from ghost hunts to running her own YouTube channel. She visits an old, abandoned church to film, hoping for paranormal activity. But what she didn’t expect was to summon Leon, a demon who also serves as the school’s guardian and is infamous for killing. Leon’s master orders him to take Rae to be sacrificed, but he refuses. Leon tells Rae that she is wanted as the next sacrifice to awaken a god, and he offers to protect her from the monsters that lurk in the dark. However, the one thing he asks in return for protection is her soul. Will she surrender and give him her soul? It´s been a while since I read this book series but i´m still thinking about so it´s only right that it gets the review it deserves. The vibes were similar to the vampire diaries but darker. Just small town witchy stuff but with demons and monsters. I´m not that into dark romance but I LOVE this series especially that it´s not like every other cringey mafia dark romance bs.. Sidenote: I highly recommend you imagine the MMC as Leon Kennedy from Resident Evil.

    Cassie, unsere Protagonistin, hat ein natürliches Talent dafür, Menschen zu durchschauen. Sie wird vom FBI aufgespürt, um an einem geheimen Programm teilzunehmen – zusammen mit anderen Jugendlichen, die ebenfalls außergewöhnliche Fähigkeiten besitzen, um alte ungelöste Fälle zu knacken. Michael hat ein Gespür für Emotionen und Dean teilt Cassies Gabe für das Profiling. Für wen wird Cassie sich entscheiden?! Doch im ‚Naturals‘-Programm ist nicht alles so, wie es scheint, und als ein neuer Serienmörder zuschlägt, erkennt Cassie, dass sie selbst Teil des Rätsels ist – und dass alles auf sie zurückzuführen scheint. Wird sie überleben? Die Geschichte ist unglaublich fesselnd und ich freue mich schon riesig darauf, die restlichen Bände der Reihe zu lesen! Die Handlung ist hervorragend ausgearbeitet und die Figuren sind noch viel besser. Alle Charaktere haben so eine individuelle Persönlichkeit, was leider oft in Büchern verloren geht aber definitiv nicht hier. Und es gibt einfach etwas ganz Besonderes an ✨kurzen Kapiteln und einem schnellen Erzähltempo✨, das das Leseerlebnis enorm steigert. Noch bin ich Team Dean aber schauen wir mal ob sich das noch ändert.
