Band 7
Sie gingen, sie beide gemeinsam
The narration of Genesis 22 is parting the ways. For a long time, the narration’s religious-historical and typological reading in exegesis – just as in sermon texts – had a certain claim of absoluteness. Erhard Blum’s exegesis constitutes a turning point in the history of research on Genesis 22. Subsequently, numerous possibilities of interpretation emerged due to the late dating of the text and the Canonical Exegesis which all found their expression in the vast abundance of exegetic literature. Just as in exegesis there is a visible change in the sermon texts as the preachers use the whole spectrum of interpretations. As a consequence, the religious-historical and typological reading fade into the background.
