Der Programmierer Kevin Flynn versucht Beweise dafür zu beschaffen, dass Ed Dillinger einst mehrere von ihm programmierte Computerspiele gestohlen und diese als seine eigenen ausgegeben hat. Dillinger wurde dadurch Präsident der Computerfirma ENCOM.
Flynn schreibt Computerprogramme, die im vom MCP (Master Control Program) übernommenen Hauptcomputer der Firma nach den Beweisen suchen sollen; seine Versuche bleiben allerdings stets erfolglos.
Was weder Flynn noch sonst jemand ahnt, ist, dass alle Computerprogramme in einer vom MCP beherrschten virtuellen Realität als humanoide Wesen leben, die ihren Programmierern ähneln...
TRON von Brian Daley (22. Dezember 1947 – 11. Februar 1996) ist die mitreißende Roman-Adaption des gleichnamigen, revolutionären Science-Fiction-Films aus dem Jahr 1982 (Regie: Steven Lisberger), in den Hauptrollen: Jeff Bridges als Kevin Flynn/Clu, Bruce Boxleitner als Alan Bradley/Tron, David Warner als Ed Dillinger/Sark und Cindy Morgan als Lora/Yori.
Der Roman erscheint als durchgesehene Neuausgabe in der Reihe APEX SCIENCE-FICTION-KLASSIKER.
