„You Cannot Touch Me!“

This book is the first volume of Tahereh Mafi’s „Shatter Me“ trilogy

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone for 264 days – not by choice though. It’s her skin that prevents her from doing so, her skin that inflicts insufferable pain on people who get in contact with it. But after being locked up for murder for nearly a year Juliette’s luck finally seems to change when a boy from her past reenters her life…

Compared to other dystopian novels „Shatter Me“ is not too action-packed or bloody, but rather focuses on the characters relationships. It never gets boring though and is really well written. Also, I love the cover art of this series.

I recommend this book to teenagers aged 14 and up, especially if you don’t like too much violence. Also, it’s a good introduction if you are new to the genre.

Shatter Me captivated me from beginning to end
von Safari Poet am 10.04.2015

Juliette has been locked up, surrounded by the same 4 walls for 264 days alone, until he arrives. There are so many emotions you go through with Juliette, page to page. You're numb, scared, confused, intrigued, excited, devastated, courageous and something she'd only be able to perceive as happiness since... Juliette has been locked up, surrounded by the same 4 walls for 264 days alone, until he arrives. There are so many emotions you go through with Juliette, page to page. You're numb, scared, confused, intrigued, excited, devastated, courageous and something she'd only be able to perceive as happiness since life hasn't given her any real opportunities to know what that is until now. Everything effects Juliette and you feel for her before you even know her. What she's gone through and faces ahead is a lot to handle and even that much difficult when the world around her is crumbling. Animals are dying, desperation for food is growing, the weather is erratic and the rate people are dying is alarming. The Reestablishment promised to fix things, but more people die on the other end of their guns than empty stomachs. Juliette has been completely neglected by her family and ostracized by society her whole life – made to feel like she's a monster. And that's exactly what The Reestablishment wants Juliette to be, so she can help them with their cause. This book is addictive! I love suspenseful ending that making you anticipate the next book that much more, but with Shatter Me that was the case for every chapter. I couldn't put this book down because I needed to know what happens, keeping me simultaneously anticipating and dreading what would. Shatter Me captivated me from beginning to end. Tahereh Mafi's story is unique, her writing engrossing and characters riveting. It's a thrilling paranormal dystopian with romance and action that I'd recommend to everybody.

Juliette can't touch anyone, because her touch is lethal. No one. She is alone with no Family and friends. She murdered a child with only her Hands and now she is trapped in a cell. She murdered a child with only her Hands and now she is trapped in a cell. THe Restablishment wants to use her as a weapon in the war. Will Juliette accept that or fight against it? Tahereh Mafi's writing style is incredible. People will be amazed of her writing! SHe uses a lot of methapres and other stylistic devices. U will be overwhelmed by Juliette's agony. U will feel her. U will feel every emotions of hers. Because Tahereh Mafi describes everything from head to toe. Not only is there the Beauty of the writing but also the love triangle in the book which is so amazing and interesting. On the one Hand there is Warner and on the other side we have Adam. Who will she Chose?

“Books are easily destroyed. But words will live as long as people can remember them.”

It's always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it's a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light. The moon understands what it means to be human. Uncertain. Alone. Cratered by imperfections.” I think this says a lot about the book. I could hardly put away the marker 'cause almost every single sentence is worth remembering. Tahereh Mafi is a master of words and knows how to catch the readers. I guess everyone who likes 'Divergent' is going to adore 'Shatter Me'. #I haven't read 'Divergent' yet but it's also about extraordinary powers etc.#
