From the start he had a crush on Marissa, an aristocrat of the vampires. But he sees no future for them and slowly his former contempt to be part of the warriors vanishes. And his best friend – Vishous – is on a downward spiral, too. Then one night he gets caught by the lesser and is brought to the Omega. He is rescued in the last moment by his brothers and suddenly he finds Mariassa at his side. But something dark grows within Butch and only Vishous seems a help. But then, Wraith – the king – starts to dig into Butch history – and comes up with strange news. ** Well… The weakest of the books. The revelation in the book is not so big a surprise regarding the title. But the actual act is not really explained. Just one of the flaws. Mariassa appears pale and weak and is not really likeable. We never see the sparks ignite. But some other parts of the story are far more interesting: John’s fate, Revhenge, Phurry’s trouble, Vishous secrets and his role in Butch life, the connection between scribe Virgin and Omega. In this book, the side plots and specially the dynamics between Butch and V are far more interesting. Still, it is a great book, true to Ms Wards canon. And you have to have read the previous books to understand! (The next book in October will be about V, followed by Phury in April next year)
