„The Great Perhaps“

Sabrina Reiter, Thalia-Buchhandlung Wien, Donauzentrum

"Looking for Alaska" is the first novel by bestselling author John Green, who's probably best known for his novel "The Fault in Our Stars".

16-year-old Miles transfers from a public school in Florida to a boarding school in Alabama. There he finally finds friends and leads a somewhat typical life of a teenager. But about halfway through his first year there tragedy strikes and leaves him devastated.
How could things turn so bad? Could it all have been prevented?

This amazing book is not only about pranks, first love and school like some might expect. On the contrary, it also tackles more serious topics like loyalty and underage drinking.

I enjoyed reading this story and strongly suggest teenagers aged 14 and up read it too.

Indescribably brilliant. The first half of this book draws much influence from Salanger's "Catcher in the Rye",the second half is pure genius from Green himself.A future classic.

Alaska is like a celebrity for Pudge - beautiful to watch and unattainable. A story about friendship, love and not placing people you love on a pedestal.

Kann man lesen, "muss" man aber nicht

Für den Unterricht ist er aber - im Gegensatz zu anderen Lektüren - eine gute Abwechslung, also lasst euch nicht abschrecken :)
