K. S. Khoury was born in the Middle East, educated in the U.S., and, having grown up in the desert, learned the poetry associated, recited and chanted since ancient times. Some of these verses found their way to one of the most prominent venues in pre Islamic Arabia where these meters of most noteworthy poets were displayed. One of these poets is the main character of this book: Imruul Qais.
