First and foremost i wish to point out that Elle Kennedy is my favorite NA author. The Deal, The Score, The Graham Effect and The Dixon Rule are amazing books. I had high hopes for this one- especially since we already saw hints of the dynamic in the other books. Yet it still managed to fall a little flat for me. Subjectively speaking the writing style is solid and all is well. BUTTTT! There were quite a few things I minded- like Elle's need to incorparate drugs again in the book. And I dont understand why she likes this so much. But it always makes me roll my eyes. WHYYYY is this necessary- and its always in such an "ohhhh i always wanted to do this" kind of way. hmh... not a fan. But my main issue with the book was actually the relationship part. I hoped for more between the men themselves- but this was never a topic in the book until the last bit- and personally found this a bit lacking for the story. On a side note- as a foster child my self- i sometimes felt for her- not always mind you- because everyone has a different story- but the wish for parental approval is different for adoptive/foster kids and that part rang true.
